A day with Grandad

I have spent the day with G-Ma and Grandad while Mummy and Daddy go upta north to a wedding. Me and Grandad went for a picnic. We walked up the fields to the canal tow path and when we got to the bridge we crossed the canal and sat on the grass and had our lollipop followed by Jammie Dodgers then our Hola Hoops and finally a sandwich.
We saw hundreds of butterfly's as we walked along the canal, we also saw some Long Horn Cattle, a Common Buzzard, a Green Woodpecker and Grandad saved a Bee! it was laying on it's back in a puddle and he turned it over and put it on dry grass and after a few minutes it flew away. We walked past Spike Island (I can't work out why it is called Spike Island, it is a pond not an island and I didn't see any spikes at all!) on the way home. We played in the woods on some swings that other people had put up for me to play on, awfully kind of them. We headed back to Ma's and just has we were across the road the heavens opened and me and Grandad got drenched.
It was great fun.

It's time for our picnic.

Are you sure this thing is safe Grandad?

So, you want me to run and dive onto that twig on the end of that string? OK!
