New Years Eve is memorable for many reason's.
Seeing out the OLD! Welcoming the NEW! Parties! Fireworks!...
But December 31st 2015 will long live in the annuls of history as the day Grandad finally beat Felix at Football...........
Forget, Barcelona v's Real Madrid, Celtic v's Rangers, Juventus v's AC Milan or Forest v's Derby this is where the real rivalry is, on the astro-turf in Grandad's back garden
The game started much as any other epic battle between these two sporting giants. Felix taking an early 2 - 0 lead. Grandad diving over the top of the ball then being sent the wrong way. The game was going true to form when Grandad showed a great piece of skill to wrong foot Felix and calmly slotted it home. 'Game On' as they say!
Felix restored his two goal advantage from the penalty spot after being awarded a spot kick for what can only be described as a perfect twist in the pike position ( Greg Louganis ) would of been proud of .
Grandad poured forward to try and get back into the game, sending the 5 year old the wrong way and then a sublime bit of skill to lift the ball over the head of the 3' 2" defender enabled Grandad to pull it back to 3 - 3.
A lovely little nutmeg (worth 20p) and a toe poke put Grandad up 4 - 3 when it happened!
Ma shouted tea's ready............. Arguments raged and tantrums thrown but it was to no avail we had to go in for tea.
For the first time ever Grandad had won. A new age had dawned!
